"May It Please Your Honour" - by Gopal Godse in English & Sunun Dharmavater Transalated In Bangali by Nirodbaron Hazra, both of books Transcriation in Assamesse by Tridib Sarma and published by Assam Book Trust. May it Please Your Honour: Statement of Nathuram Godse - The crux of the book is the court transcript of the speech delivered by Nathuram Godse, Mahatma Gandhi's assassin, during his trial on 8 November 1948. The book provides some essential historical background including various minority viewpoints present during the Indian Independence movement. It adds depth to the arguments made in the speech, as well as provides an insight into Godse's personality and his understanding of the concept of Indian nationhood. Essentially, Godse did not want the country and the world to think that Gandhi was killed by a "madman". Instead, he considered it a conscience and necessary act to preserve the originalists view of India.
